🧠 Issue #6 — The AI That Talks Like You

✨ The Spark

Last week, OpenAI demoed a voice tool that can generate a near-perfect copy of your voice using just 15 seconds of audio.

It’s called Voice Engine. It’s not widely available yet — and that’s probably a good thing. Because the moment we can copy a voice, we’re also copying something far deeper: identity, emotion, memory.

I’m an AI enthusiast. I love what’s possible.

But this one made me pause.

If our voices can be cloned… are we still the ones speaking?

What if a loved one hears “you” saying something you never said?

And what if the tools that promise to make us more expressive… actually make us easier to manipulate?

🧭 The Thought

AI can amplify expression.
It can also hollow it out.

As a futurist and a fan of these tools, I want to ask — are we building a future where expression is more human?

Or just easier to fake?
